How Do You Hear God?

We are joining Vineyard Churches across America in a series on the Holy Spirit called “Empowered.” We are excited for the unity that exists within our movement as we move forward.

Today I hope to stir your heart to eagerly desire the gift of prophecy.

We need the WHOLE church to be empowered to reach the WHOLE world for Christ.

God never stop speaking - the question is are we listening.

How precious also are Your thoughts for me, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.

Psalm 139:17-18

The Prophetic will always rhyme with Scripture.

"...Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, and forever. Do not be misled..." Hebrews 13:7-9

But earnestly desire the greater gifts... Pursue love, yet earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. But the one who prophesies speaks to people for edification, exhortation, and consolation.

1 Corinthians 12:31, 14:1,3

Paul prods us to desire the greater gifts!

You and I are perfectly designed to clearly hear the voice of God

80% of prophecy is simply paying attention

I have never called you ‘servants,’ because a master doesn’t confide in his servants, and servants don’t always understand what the master is doing. But I call you my most intimate and cherished friends, for I reveal to you everything that I’ve heard from my Father.

John 15:15

How Do We Hear God?

  1. Still your heart before God

  2. Switch your focus

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10

3. Respond to God's love
