We Will Keep A Culture of Honor

What does Honor mean?

Verb: to demonstrate high respect or great esteem for someone.

Noun: adherence to what is right or to a conventional way of thinking.

1) We honor people for who God has designed someone to be and without comparing them to who we wish they were.

“The one who receives you receives Me, and the one who receives Me receives Him who sent me. 41. The one who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and the one who receives a righteous person in the name of a righteous person shall receive a righteous person’s reward.”

Matthew 10:40-41

2) Gossip is NOT safe here.

3) If we have an issue with someone, we go to THAT person.

“Now if your brother sins, go ahead and show him his sin in private; if he listens to you, you have gained your brother.”

“When Peter came to Antioch, I told him face to face that he was wrong. 12. He used to eat with Gentile followers of the Lord, until James sent some Jewish followers. Peter was afraid of the Jews and soon stopped eating with the Gentiles. 13. He and the others hid their true feelings so well that even Barnabas was fooled. 14. But when I saw they were not really obeying the truth that is in the good news, I corrected Peter in front of everyone…”

4) We handle situations in love, not wrath or condemnation.

But when he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. 21.
